The Creeping Museum is an ongoing experiment in art and philanthropy. We’re a volunteer-run not-for-profit organization whose goal is to “mend the world with art” by helping artists use their work to give back to their communities. We collaborate with creators from around the world, finding inspiration in folklore, museums of all shapes and sizes, and ghost stories. We’ve staged group exhibitions online, on collections of bookplates, and inside of a Little Free Library. We believe in the transformative and healing power of art, especially when it’s paired with advocacy and education, and since 2016 have raised more than $10,000 for an array of civil rights, health and human services, animal welfare, environmental, and educational causes.
The Creeping Team
Alyssa has two decades of experience as a content strategist, producer, and designer, and has a graduate degree in museum studies with a focus on collections management. She's been fortunate enough to work with some of her favorite cultural institutions including the National Civil Rights Museum, MoMA, Sesame Workshop, and National Geographic. In addition to creepy art, she loves books and coffee, scary movies, cuckoo clocks, and making pictures with thread.
Layla is an artist, hair stylist, and salon owner. Raised by artists, and trained as a printmaker and bookbinder, she's been "making" in one form or another her whole life. She loves art (hi-brow to no-brow), music ( '50's r&b to doom metal), horror movies (the ghostier the better), and could easily survive on a steady diet of meatball subs and cafe con leche.
